A vintage Christmas cookie swap! Join us in Boston on December 10 or host your own

Sometime in the month of December, join The Vintage Eats Project in hosting a vintage Christmas cookie swap! Here’s how you do it:

– Pick a date and time and invite people.

– Find a vintage recipe (ask your family members, consult an old cookbook, visit http://www.vintagerecipes.net/) and encourage your guests to do the same.

– Ask each invitee to bake a dozen cookies and bring them to your house on the day of the party.

– Lay them out, and, if you’re feeling ambitious, indicate which ones contain nuts or make signs with cookie names.

– Have everybody bring a tin to store swapped cookies. Form a line and start sampling.

– Break out the egg nog and your most festive holiday apron and have fun!

– Don’t forget to send us recipes and photos from your party so we can post them here.

– Any questions? Want to say YES to throwing a party? Let us know in the comments section below.

We’ll be hosting our vintage Christmas cookie swap on December 10th at The Chocolate Tarte, 199C Highland Ave, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. If you are Boston-based and would like to come, drop Jen a line at jennifer.ede@gmail.com and let her know what you’re baking! Please plan to make at least a dozen to share.
